Theo bản tin trên báo Sài Gòn giải phóng, số ra ngày 28 vừa qua, tình trạng ô nhiễm chì tại làng nghề Đông Mai, xã Chí Đạo, huyện Văn Lâm, tỉnh Hưng Yên, chuyên tái chế ắc quy chì xuất đi các nơi, nghiêm trọng đến mức thứ trưởng Nguyễn Thanh Long thuộc Bộ Y Tế phải thân chinh xuống hiện trường xem xét.
Sau quá trình kiểm tra, thứ trưởng Bộ Y Tế, ông Nguyễn Thanh Long, xác nhận tình trạng ô nhiễm chí tại thôn Đông Mai ở mức đáng báo động, ra lệnh di dời khẩn cấp 13 hộ sản xuất ra nơi khác. .

Sáng nay, QH biểu quyết thông qua nghị quyết phê chuẩn đề nghị của Chánh án Tòa án NDTC về việc bổ nhiệm thẩm phán Tòa án NDTC với tỉ lệ 89,07% ĐB tán thành.
Đây là lần đầu tiên QH phê chuẩn chức danh thẩm phán Tòa án NDTC.

Sunday marks the 50th anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized birth control for married couples. (The decision was expanded to non-married Americans in 1972.)
The case involved Estelle Griswold, then head of the Planned Parenthood League of Connecticut, who was arrested and fined $100 for providing contraception, in violation of a state law still on the books from 1879. The high court found that law unconstitutional on the grounds that "marital privacy" covered the right to contraception.

Now that the money has begun to dwindle, the Ministry of Health is coming up with a new way to distribute condoms — through the free market. Yes, a socialist state is adopting a capitalistic solution. Working with USAID and PATH, a Seattle-based nonprofit, the government is winding down handouts; instead, it's encouraging the sale of condoms.
Currently only 15 percent of condoms are handed out by the public sector; the remaining 85 percent are purchased at pharmacies, grocery stores and roadside stalls, according to the United Nations Population Fund. Prices range from 2,000 to 8,000 Vietnamese dong (that's 10 to 40 U.S. cents).
